The area to be soldered could not be touched with a soldering iron.
Temperature Sensitivity
The components could not be soldered on a hot plate.
Solution
Heat
A Model 4085 Infrared Spot Heater used noncontact infrared heat to flow the solder rings into the components.
Positioning
The Infrared Spot Heater was mounted on a manually operated control arm, allowing the operator to position the heater directly above the area being soldered without touching it.
Timed Operation
A timer was wired into the Spot Heater to provide the precise amount of heat to the components.
Benefits
Improved Quality
The Model 4085 Infrared Spot Heater applied the precise amount of heat to flow the solder rings into the delicate components without touching the components.
Increased Speed
The soldering operation was completed in less time with the Model 4085 Infrared Spot Heater than had been possible with other methods.
