Tube Bonding Systems

PCS designs custom thermal systems for bonding thermoplastic tubing used in catheter shafts, medical assemblies, and other polymer-based devices. Using hot air convection, hot die conduction, or non-contact infrared heating, each system is configured to match the material, geometry, and production requirements of the customer’s process.

Key Features

  • Multiple heating technologies available:
    • Hot air convection
    • Hot die conduction
    • Non-contact infrared
  • Custom part fixturing for precise alignment and repeatable bond formation
  • Automation options for single-part or batch processing
  • Real-time product temperature monitoring with closed-loop feedback control
  • PLC-based system with color touchscreen HMI for:
    • Adjustable process parameters
    • Recipe storage and recall
  • Integrated data logging with optional connection to plant-wide MES or traceability software

Typical Applications

  • Bonding multi-lumen or single-lumen catheter tubes
  • Joining dissimilar polymer segments
  • Tip forming or strain relief bonding
  • Precision thermoplastic welding for medical device assemblies

Each system is engineered to accommodate customer specific applications.
