Reel to Reel Electrical Pin Solder Reflow System

High-performance reel-to-reel infrared tin reflow system designed for continuous processing of electrical pin ribbon. The system integrates focused infrared heating, precision motion control, active cooling, and safety interlocks into a compact, operator-friendly unit.  

System Overview:

  • 36 kW infrared heating array with six line heaters
    • Three front side and three back side, focused directly on the tinned ribbon surface
    • Heater height independently adjustable (0–2″) via precision stepper motors to     accommodate various part geometries.
    • Heater output fully adjustable (0–100%)
  • Air knife cooling section
    • Two-stage design with one 6″ knife and a triple 6″ knife bank (8 air knives total)
    • Independent air flow adjustment via regulator and needle valve
  • Dripless water fittings for each heater to simplify setup and maintenance
  • Solenoid valve enables water on/off control during operation
  • Flow switch and thermostat interlocks protect heaters from overheating
  • Constructed from smooth sided, 1.5″ square extruded aluminum.
  • Operator side enclosed with tinted polycarbonate panels for visibility and glare protection
  • Frame dimensions: 84″ L × 48″ H × 20″ D with leveling feet for precision setup

Controls and Data Collection:

  • Touchscreen HMI displays real time line speed, heater output %, and alarm status
  • Password-protected setup screens ensure process integrity
  • Event log screen tracks system events, errors, and interlock status for traceability
  • Operator starts process via recipe selection and “Start” button after safe threading and guard checks
